Libby Soo Hoo

Libby Soo Hoo is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal of Sterling Insurance Group, the independent insurance agency serving Martha's Vineyard and greater Boston. Born and raised on Martha's Vineyard, where her family has lived for generations, Libby has spent more than 15 years leading agency operations, human resources, and systems strategy, building one of the Island's most trusted insurance practices from the ground up.

A graduate of Babson College, consistently ranked among the top entrepreneurship-focused business schools in the country, Libby brings a rigorous analytical and operational lens to agency leadership. She holds the Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) and Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA, since 2022) designations and is a licensed Property & Casualty producer in Massachusetts and multiple other states. Her commitment to professional development extends well beyond insurance: Libby has completed executive education at the Wharton School of Business (Executive Business Acumen), Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management (Sales and Leadership Summit), Babson College's Leadership Program for Women and Allies, and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (Private Wealth Management), a breadth of study that reflects her belief that great agency leadership requires fluency in business strategy, client relationships, and financial acumen at every level.

Libby is also a lifelong student of the arts. She has taken numerous courses at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), both during and after college, developing a visual and creative sensibility that shapes how she approaches brand, client experience, and the culture of the agency. That intersection of business rigor and artistic perspective is a hallmark of how Sterling was built.

Libby is a two-time recipient of the Elite Women in Insurance designation (2017 and 2024), one of the industry's most competitive national recognitions for female insurance leaders. She is the architect of the systems, processes, and culture that allow Sterling's team to deliver consistent, high-quality service to personal and commercial clients across the Vineyard and Boston.
