Compensation Disclosure Revised 08/01/2025

At Soo Hoo Insurance, A Division of Sterling Insurance Group, we are committed to honesty, transparency, and the highest standard of service. We believe that our clients deserve to understand how we are compensated for the services we provide.

We work with a broad range of competitive insurance carriers, allowing us to offer coverage options tailored to your specific needs. Placement of coverage is always based on the suitability of the policy and the competitiveness of pricing — never on compensation incentives.

Sterling Insurance Group may receive compensation in the following ways:

1. Policy Commissions: Most of our compensation comes from commissions paid by insurance carriers. These commissions are typically a percentage of your policy premium and are included in the premium you pay. They are not additional charges and are filed and approved by state insurance departments. These commissions do not influence our decision in recommending one carrier over another.

2. Contingent Compensation (Bonuses or Incentives): We may also receive performance-based compensation from insurers. This can be based on factors such as premium volume, policy retention, loss ratios, and overall profitability. These arrangements reward long-term agency performance and are not tied to individual policy placement decisions.

3. Interest Income: For certain policies billed through our agency ("agency-billed" policies), we may temporarily hold premium payments before remitting them to insurers. In such cases, Sterling may earn interest on these funds.

4. Marketing or Business Development Support: Insurance carriers may reimburse Sterling for expenses related to marketing, advertising, product training, or promotional events. These reimbursements are never tied to specific policies and are used to help us provide better service and education to our clients.

5. Administrative Fees: For agency-billed policies, an administrative fee may be applied at binding to support the servicing, billing, and management of your coverage. This fee, when applicable, will be noted on your invoice and is separate from the policy premium.

6. Other Professional Service Fees: In limited situations, Sterling may charge additional fees for specific professional services beyond standard policy placement or servicing. Any such fees will be disclosed to you in advance.

If you ever have questions about how we are compensated — including commissions, fees, or other income — we encourage you to ask your Sterling Insurance Group representative. We value your trust and are happy to provide detailed explanations.
